AGP was founded in 1994 by Gaël Hamon, a stonemason who specialised in restoring historic monuments. The company was born from the combination of a love of traditional trades and the desire to provide the arts and culture with digital technologies. We are passionate about heritage in all its forms: cultural, historic and artistic

Over the years, we have built up a team of experts with exceptional expertise (earning us France’s prestigious heritage label, Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant). And we remain committed to providing our clients with the very best of services.

At the cutting edge of technology for heritage conservation and enhancement, we are pioneers in 3D scanning for sites and works of art and are trailblazers in the use of 3D imagery and augmented reality for cultural enhancement. For 30 years, we have been demanding in our work, applying scientific rigour to everything we do to conserve heritage for future generations and make it accessible to as many as possible.

Digitalising heritage

Our multidisciplinary team is at the forefront of 3D measurement and acquisition techniques. We can rapidly measure all types of buildings and objects – from the largest to the smallest – to a very high definition, without touching them so you can conserve, restore, maintain or enhance your heritage asset.

Promoting heritage

We draw on our 3D modelling and historical reconstruction know-how to design bespoke interactive solutions and highly immersive experiences so visitors can travel through time and space. By doing so, you are better able to share and reveal the history behind a site or an art collection.

Our story over more than 30 years

A PIONEER IN HERITAGE IN FRANCE

1994

AGP established

Gaël Hamon, a master stonemason, established Art Graphique & Patrimoine in 1994. He held the strong belief that technology was the future of heritage conservation.

2001

First ‘multimedia’ historical 3D reconstruction projects

The company made its first forays into the fledgling industry of cultural mediation by putting its 3D acquisition and modelling expertise to use in enrichment programmes for the general public.

2005

First major campaign in 3D scanning for art works

Scanning unit for works of art created: start of our first major 3D scanning campaigns for works of art.

2009

First augmented reality for a cultural site in France

As a pioneer in augmented reality, AGP produced an experimental system with the backing of Région Ile de France and Cap Digital to reproduce the historic decors of Charles V’s study in the Château de Vincennes using a touch screen tablet.

2010

As-built historic BIM offer launched – first HBIM R&D project

AGP adapted the Historic Building Information Modelling (HBIM) process to reproduce as-built buildings, launching its first pilot heritage BIM project thanks to its R&D unit.

2013

UNESCO WSA award – world’s best digital application, Culture & Heritage – Jumièges 3D

Jumièges 3D, an augmented reality application, was a winner in the culture & heritage category (World Summit Award – UNESCO)

2016

Virtual Museum® launched

2018

Awarded France’s living heritage company certification, Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (EPV)

Recognised as a French company that demonstrates excellence and exceptional know-how, earning AGP the government’s EPV certification.

2021

MEMORIST created – Heritage & Beyond

MEMORIST, created by Groupe Mobilitas, is the alliance of five French companies (AGP, Arkhenum, TRIBVN, La Reliure du Limousin and Vectracom) and has the aim of developing French expertise in heritage conservation, scanning/digitisation, restoration and enhancement on an international scale.

2022

Ariane R&D project to secure complex structures

AGP won France’s Innov’up Tech & Secours call for tender with a high-tech solution designed to facilitate and improve emergency operations in all types of complex buildings that are open to the public.

2023

Heritage Virtual Scene (HVS) offer launched, winner at the Innovation Vivatechnology awards in the Culture and Entertainment category

HVS, a project spearheaded by AGP and MEMORIST in partnership with French cultural institutions, is our service that designs and markets outstanding digital twins created using 3D scanning for heritage assets.
